Information about the Coronavirus

Dear Parents/Whānau,

You will be aware that the World Health Organisation has declared a global health emergency, in relation to the Coronavirus. As this is a rapidly changing situation, we are continuing to take our advice from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education. At this stage, we are continuing to ask that students and families who have visited the affected countries stay away from school for 14 days, after arriving back in New Zealand. Anyone who has experienced cold or flu-like symptoms during this time will be required to provide medical information to ensure they are free from contagious illnesses, before returning to school.

We would like to thank all our families for their support and communication around this, in particular to those who have let us know about their holiday travel, via the Google Form.

Please contact the school via the usual methods to report your child’s absence from school, if required. We are aware that this creates some unexpected disruption for families and if there are any changes which allow students to return to school earlier, we will make sure this information is communicated to parents as quickly as possible.

Additional Precautions:

– As school recommences, teachers will reiterate with students the importance of handwashing and personal hygiene

– Additional hand-sanitisers have been ordered for all learning spaces

– As per usual, any students who display cold or flu-like symptoms at school will be sent home
