Fakaalofa lahi atu ki a mutolu oti welcome to Term 4.
Return to School Information
School leaders have worked hard on a plan for the return of students from next week. Taking into account advice from both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, we have decided on a staggered week with students attending two days each week. Our teachers have all met the requirement of one vaccination and almost all have received both shots.
Randwick Park School will open for tamariki from Thursday 18th November. Students will return in two groups, for two days each. This will continue until advised otherwise by the government.
Mondays and Tuesdays – students with last names starting A to M
Wednesday – all students learn from home, with online class google meetings
Thursdays and Fridays – students with last names starting N to Z
Wednesday 17th November – all students will continue online learning from home
Thursday 18th and Friday 19th – students with the last name N to Z will attend school. They will be in their normal classroom with their teacher and a learning assistant
Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd – students with last names A to M will attend school. They will be in their normal class with their teacher and a learning assistant
If families have children with different last names, they will need to come on the same day as a group. They are to attend the group that the majority of the household is in.
Over lockdown, we have had one Bubble Class for students whose parents did not have care for them while they were working. These students will be in class on all four onsite days, with the existing bubble class open on Wednesdays.
Students are to arrive at school between 8.45 am and 9.15 am. Year 3 to 8 students are to either be left at the gate or if brought by car, left at the drop off zone. Year 1 and 2 students can be taken to the external classroom door by one whānau member. At the end of the day Year 5-8 students will be dismissed at 2.30 pm. These students can pick up siblings from junior classes at this time, they are to wait outside the classroom’s external door. At 2.45 pm all other students will be dismissed. One whānau member can pick up junior students from the external classroom doors. All adults coming onto site will need to wear a mask, scan the school QR code and are not to enter any buildings.
There will be no breakfast club or after school care. Students must go straight to class when arriving and are not to come(be) on-site before 8.45 am. At the end of the day, they must leave the school grounds when they are dismissed.
There will be a rolling timetable for breaks during the day and allocated play areas. Teachers will supervise their own students during these times. Ka Ora, Ka Ako lunches will still operate. More details about how the school will operate are included in our RPS COVID-19 Safety Plan.
Students who are learning from home are to use the online learning site and collect a hard pack from school. These will be available between 9.00 and 3.00 pm each Wednesday starting from the 17th November 2021.
School devices are to remain at home and not brought to school until Monday 29th November. After this, the online learning site will stop and students learning from home will have the option of paper learning packs.
