POHUTUKAWA CAMP COUNTDOWN FINAL CHECK
The Pohutukawa camp is just around the corner, taking place from Wednesday 4 – Friday 6 March.
To ensure everything is organised and runs smoothly, all camp payments and required forms must be completed and received by the office on or before Wednesday, 18 February.
Unfortunately, if payment has not been made or any forms are missing after this date, students may not be able to attend camp.
Thank you for helping us get everything sorted on time, we can’t wait for an amazing camp experience!

MINISTRY OF EDUCATION ATTENDANCE GOALS
The Ministry of Education has set a clear national goal for student attendance. By 2030, the expectation is that 80% of students will attend school regularly, which is defined as being present for more than 90% of the term (no more than five days absent per term).
Regular attendance is strongly linked to student wellbeing, achievement, and positive long-term outcomes. Every day at school matters. When tamariki attend consistently, they build routines, strengthen friendships, and keep up with their learning.
Thank you for helping us come so close to reaching our goal! Last week, Te Hiringa won our house attendance challenge with 91.34% regular attendance, followed very closely by Ururoa with 91.30%. Congratulations to Homayra (Room 7) and Kaeden (Room 1), who won the Lego draw – have fun building!

MATIFIC New online Maths programme for homework and school
Following the closure of our online Maths platform, Mangahigh at the end of last year. We have started using a new online learning tool called Matific. Matific is an Australian and New Zealand online resource that aligns to the NZ curriculum and Oxford Maths programme that we are using as a school. We will be using Matific in the classroom to support learning, and tamariki can also log in at home to work on their maths skills
Your child will bring their login details home with them in their homework books. If not, please ask your classroom teacher for details.
