CONSULTATION HUI
Whānau are invited to a hui on Wednesday, 5 November at 6 pm in the staffroom. The purpose of this hui is to gather whānau voice and aspirations for our Māori tamariki, and to discuss ways our community would like Randwick Park School to continue supporting Māori learners at our kura.
We look forward to connecting with as many whānau as possible and hearing your ideas.

HOUSE CHALLENGE – WEEK 3’S WINNER
Our winning house last week with the most points collected was TE HIRINGA!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Last week at Randwick Park School, only 57% of our tamariki attended school for over 80% of the week. This means that just under half of our students had one or more days off. Our goal is for all students to attend school regularly — which is five or less days off per term. Please support us in achieving this by sending your child/ren to school every day this week.
A big well done to the Mana House, who had the highest regular attendance last week! It was a very close race, with Kotahitangi and Te Hiringa less than one percent behind. Come on, Ururoa — you can do it!
Congratulations to Shaniya (Room 12), Kartikey (Room 16), and Sapphire (Room 10) from Mana, who won the random LEGO prize draw. Enjoy your prizes! There will be another draw next week for the house with the highest attendance — keep coming to school every day for your chance to win!

LOCKDOWN PRACTICE – MONDAY 3 NOVEMBER
As part of keeping our school safe, we need to be prepared to respond quickly and calmly to a range of emergency situations. On Monday 3 November, Randwick Park School will be holding a lockdown practice.
We work alongside an independent company called Harrison Tew®, who specialise in emergency management planning for schools. They will work with our senior leaders, staff, and students on how to respond safely during an emergency. Tamariki will be reminded that in a lockdown, they need to get down and quiet in the middle of the nearest room.
During the practice, you will receive a notification from the school, so please ensure your emergency contact details are up to date. If they are not, please contact our school office. The message will state that this is only an exercise and will explain that any updates will be shared on the school website and through Hero.
In the unlikely event of a real emergency, please do not come to the school or call, as we will be focused on keeping everyone safe. Coming on site can make it more difficult for staff and emergency services to manage the situation. Please trust that your child/ren will be well cared for by our staff.
