Welcome message from our Tumuaki, Miss Bleakley
Welcome to 2026 and the start of a new school year. Last week our kaiako (teachers), office staff, and caretaking team worked hard to prepare the school for the year ahead. Everything is now ready for another exciting and action-packed year, full of learning opportunities and experiences for our students.
Ms McMurray is on leave again this term, so I will continue in the role of Acting Principal. Mrs Sandra Booth will be Acting Associate Principal, and Mrs Tina Lindsay will continue as Acting SENCO. We appreciate your support as we continue to work together in these roles.
It was wonderful to see our tamariki back at school yesterday. They looked very smart in their uniforms and, for the most part, happy to be back with their friends and teachers. We welcomed around 60 new tamariki to our school community, along with a new staff member, Miss Libby Carroll, who will be teaching in Room 24.
This newsletter includes some important start-of-year reminders. If you have any questions, please feel free to email the office or pop in for a chat. If you have any concerns at any time, our Senior Leadership Team is here to help, just ask for us at the office.
Thank you for your ongoing support. We look forward to working in partnership with you and to another great year of learning and growth.
Kind regards Andrea Bleakley Acting Principal

SCHOOL UNIFORM
Our summer uniform consists of our school hat, polo, short or skirt and preferably black or navy shoes.
Please ensure your son/daughter come to school in our full school uniform. A reminder that stud earrings are only to be worn, cultural necklaces can be worn but no other jewelry, and crocs and jandals are not a part of our uniform.
It is great to see a number of our tamaiti already wearing our school sunhat. The wearing of hats will be enforced from next week.
Our school uniform can be purchased from The Uniform Shoppe in Manukau and now at The Warehouse in Takānini.

SCHOOL HOURS
Students are allowed on school grounds from 8.15am, our school bell rings at 8.40am for learning to begin. School ends at 2.45pm, tamariki need to be off site by 3pm unless they participate in training. Please ensure your child/ren are not at school before 8.15am or after 3pm as this is a health and safety issue.
Payments can be made at our student window (back of office) from 8:15am – 9.30am and 2.30pm – 3.30pm.

POHUTUKAWA CAMP
From Wednesday 4th March until Friday 6th March, our Pohutukawa team will be attending camp. The location of this camp is Motu Moana Camp, 90-142 Connaught St / 214 Portage Rd, in Blockhouse Bay.
The cost of this camp is $70 per student, or $130 for two siblings. This includes transport, accommodation, food and activities. It is heavily subsidised by grants. All money must be paid by 3.30pm Wednesday, 18 February.
If you have any issues with paying the camp fee, please come and talk to us in the school office BEFORE the 18 February deadline. Once this deadline has passed, we will only be taking those students who have paid in full. Due to the massive amount of planning involved in this event, we will not be accepting anyone after this deadline.
Please note that if your child is a Year 4 in Room 24 (Miss Carroll’s class), they are also invited to camp this year.
A gear list will be sent home this week.

Eligibility Criteria • Students with high or complex needs • Temporary medical or mobility issues affecting students or Year 1–2 whānau • Other exceptional circumstances that impact safety or wellbeing
If you require a parking pass for the end of the day, please email rpoffice@randwickpark.school.nz or come in and speak with us. Thank you for your support in helping to keep all our tamariki safe.
