NEURODIVERSITY WEEK

Welcome to Neurodiversity Week! This week is to celebrate the strengths of our neurodiverse tamariki by highlighting their talents and abilities.

During Neurodiversity week our students will explore ways to build inclusion and promote understanding within our school community.

We have several diverse learners in our school. One way we can be more inclusive is to encourage and model a kind and understanding attitude towards all tamariki in our classrooms, in the playground and everywhere in school.

WEEKLY ATTENDANCE & LEGO WINNERS

Congratulations to Mitzie from Room 25 and Tupou from Room 11, both from Te Hiringa, who were the winners of our weekly LEOF attendance challenge draw.

ENVIRO MUFTI DAY

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Enviro mufti day last week. We raised $606.00 which will go to our school gardens.

OUTDOOR CHESS

Our school is excited to introduce a new set of large outdoor chess pieces for students to enjoy during break times. Chess is a fantastic way for students to develop strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and patience. The oversized pieces make the game easy to see and play together, encouraging collaboration, friendly competition, and inclusive participation.

ACCESS AND COLLECTION OF OUR YEAR 0-4 STUDENTS

Our corridors are open to students and whānau from the 8.30 am bell. We kindly ask that you respect teachers’ time before this, as they are preparing for the day’s learning. Students are welcome to bring their bags into the corridors once the 8.30 am bell has rung.

At the end of the school day, please collect your child from the outside of their classrooms. Please do not wait in the corridor outside rooms as they become very congested.

We appreciate your support in keeping our tamariki safe.

HOUSE POINTS

Congratulations to the Te Hiringa house for taking out the Week 6 house points.
Their house flag will be proudly raised this week.

TE HUI AKO
Tuesday 24 & Wednesday 25 March
A meeting to share learning

These hui/conferences are an oportunity for you, your tamariki and their kaiako to meet and discuss learning goals and to hear about how they are doing at school.

To book in a time, please complete the booking form which was sent home or online at www.schoolinterviews.co.nz, code: 6yjzm by Wednesday 18 March.

The final bell on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 March will be 1pm.
Please ensure the safety of your tamariki after this time.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
We look forward to meeting with all whānau.

NUT ALLERGY

We have a student at Randwick Park School who has a severe nut allergy. We ask that when packing your child’s lunchbox to be mindful of what is in it. Preferably no nut bars, nut spreads (peanut butter or nutella) or packet nuts/trail mixes please.

If you have any questions please ask our office staff. Thank you for your support.

BREAKFAST CLUB

Our breakfast club is open Monday to Friday 8 – 8:30am for all our tamariki.
We are in the process of changing the location of Breakfast Club due to Room 3 being used. It is currently in Te Kahukura.

BIKE AND SCOOTER LOCKS

If tamariki ride their scooters or bikes to school, please ensure they bring a lock to keep it safe during the day. Locking rides helps prevent them from being taken. Thanks for helping us keep our school community safe and responsible.
