PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE – WELCOME TO TERM 3!
Welcome to Term 3, ten weeks full of new learning and exciting opportunities!
It was wonderful to see all our tamariki and staff back at school yesterday after the end-of-term break. We have another busy term planned, with sports events, trips, and plenty of learning ahead.
From 12–14 August, we’ll be holding Te Hui Ako, a great opportunity for you to hear about the progress your tamariki are making in their learning.
Please note that school will be closed on 15 August for a mid-term break and 18 August for a teacher-only day.
A reminder, if you have any concerns about your child, please don’t hesitate to come in and see us. We want every child to be happy and successful at school, and the whānau-school partnership is essential to making that happen. You can make an appointment through the school office.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Nga mihi
Andrea Bleakley (Acting Principal)

ATTENDANCE MATTERS – EVERY DAY COUNTS
One of our key focuses for Term 3 is student attendance. Our goal is for all tamariki to attend school regularly, this means being present 90% of the time or more. Over a term, that equates to missing fewer than five days.
Regular attendance is not just a school expectation, it’s a legal requirement. From the moment children start school, it’s a shared responsibility to ensure they attend every day. Did you know that missing just one day every two weeks adds up to over a year of lost learning by the time a student turns 16?
If your child is going to be absent, for example due to a tangi or a medical procedure, please make sure to inform us. Family holidays or time off for extracurricular activities are not considered justified reasons for absence under Ministry of Education guidelines.
The best way to let us know about an absence is through the Hero app. You can also contact the office by phone on 0800 438 777 or email: absences@randwickpark.school.nz
Thank you for working with us to support your child’s learning through regular school attendance.

CELEBRATING 100% ATTENDANCE – TERM 2
Over Term 2, we had 108 students attend school 100% of the time — an amazing achievement! Each of these tamariki received a special certificate and got to choose a Duffy book to take home.
They were also entered into a prize draw to win one of two Lego sets. The draw took place on the last day of the term at our whole-school assembly.
A big congratulations to Fateh Singh from Room 5 and Danté Worsley from Room 15, who were our lucky winners!

Even better than that, we won the Sportsmanship Award, for our fair play and support for one another on and off the court. Well done to all our players, we are very proud of you!
