YEAR 6 DAY OUT
When we went to the Orakei Basin with Youth Town, we went at 8:45 am in the school vans. There we parked the vans, then we got out and got told to walk to the building but some of us ran to the building. When we got in the building we put our bags and clothes behind a blue curtain and the instructors gave us a buoyancy aid. After everyone put on their buoyancy aids we all sat down in our groups.
After everyone sat down in their groups, we started to do the activities. The first one that my group did was stand-up paddleboarding. The person that was telling us what to do was Amir. We played Simon says, the first Simon says was put your hands on your head. The second Simon says was to stand up. The third one was jump. The fourth one was to push someone in the water. After doing stand-up paddleboarding, we did kayaking. When we were kayaking, we got told to do a challenge. The challenge was to stand up. While doing the challenge, some of us fell off the kayak and some of us stood up with no struggle.
We got our kayaks out of the water and hung up our buoyancy aids. Then we ate some pizza (two people shared a whole pizza). After everyone was done eating their pizza we got back in our groups. After everyone was in their groups my group did windsurfing. When we were windsurfing we had to wear a helmet. While we were windsurfing we were allowed to jump off the board whenever we wanted to.
After windsurfing for about one hour we went to the shore and got all the stuff out the water and put it in one area. After we did all that we cleaned all the salt off the equipment we were using. After we cleaned all the salt off the equipment we got our bags and went in the vans back to school. While we were on the way back I was thinking about how fun it was. It was so fun that I wish I could go back there for another day.

CCSA CUPS
It has been another magnificent year of Year 7-8 sport at Randwick Park School. As a school, we are part of the Central Counties Sports Association (CCSA), which is a cluster of 12 schools in Manurewa that have Year 1-8 students. Each year, schools in the CCSA compete in 14 tournaments including rugby, tag, football, softball, athletics, and so on. At each tournament schools receive points based on how well they performed at that tournament.
For the third year in succession, Randwick Park has emerged triumphant, winning the CCSA Overall Champion Trophy for the top school. Not only that, we also won the CCSA Boys Trophy (for the second year in a row), narrowly edging out our great friends and rivals, The Gardens.
But even better, we won the CCSA Sportsmanship Trophy for the second time in three years. This is a huge honour, as it means our school has not only played hard, but we have played fair. Our tamariki have brought the right attitude to every event they have competed in, and this has been acknowledged by a combination of independent referees and nominations from other CCSA schools.
A massive ka mau te wehi to all of our students, coaches, managers, background staff and anyone else who has been involved with Year 7-8 sport at Randwick Park this year. Our school continues to cement its reputation as the number one full primary sports school in Manurewa.
Here is the final points table for the year:

COUNITES CUPS
Randwick Park School is part of the Central Counties Sports Association. Central Counties competes against the six Counties intermediate schools (Manurewa, Greenmeadows, Rosehill, Waimahia, Papakura and Pukekohe), as well as the East and North Counties clusters. The winning school (or cluster) at the end of the year receives the prestigious Counties Cup.
This year, for the first time since 2017, Central Counties has won the Counties Cup, overtaking Manurewa Intermediate in the very last event of the year (athletics) to win. Manurewa Intermediate has held the Counties Cup since 2019, so this is an amazing effort from our schools!
Incredibly, we also won the other, arguably even more important, cup available at Counties level – the Counties Sportsmanship Cup. This recognises schools and clusters whose athletes and coaches have brought the right attitude to each event throughout the year. Not only is this the second year in a row that Central Counties has won this cup, it’s also the fifth time in the last seven years!
As the current Central Counties champions and Sportsmanship winners, Randwick Park will be holding on to the Counties Cups for the next year. Come and visit Room 22 if you’d like a closer look at them!

SCHOOL HATS
As the weather is getting warmer and the sun is getting hot, please ensure your son/daughter start coming to school in our full school summer uniform. It is great to see a number of our tamaiti already wearing our school sunhat.
|
|
|
USING OUR PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS
Please ensure you and your child/ren are using the pedestrian crossings before and after school. Some adults have been crossing Riverton Drive by the school gates with students, this is dangerous role modeling. After school traffic is very busy and we do not want any students copying adults and getting hurt. Thank you for your support with this and making sure everyone gets home safe.

|
BRING A BIKE & SCOOTER LOCK TO SCHOOL
If tamariki ride scooters or bikes to school, please make sure they bring a lock to keep it safe during the day. Locking rides helps prevent them from being taken. Thanks for helping us keep our school community safe and responsible!
