Kia-ora koutou katoa
I have been involved in education for over forty-eight years. I have been a Principal for over 28 years across three schools in Auckland. All schools have been full Primary Schools with students ages ranging from 5-13 years.
I am the foundation Principal of Randwick Park School which I’m proud to say I have served in for 26 years. We celebrate the cultural diversity of our RPS whanau. The cultural mix of our school which is Maori (25%) and Pacific Island (47%) students. We have increasing numbers of Asian and Middle Eastern students (18%). Previously our “Randwick Park” community won the prestigious national “Community of the Year Award” recognising the work our leaders in the community have done to make this a place where the residents are proud to live. “Don’t just live here be a local!”
Our school focus is on developing agentic learners. Discovery (our inquiry approach is based on the “Reggio Emilia Philosophy”. We aspire to create collaborative, problem-solving, confident learners and are very aware of the wealth of resource personnel within our very own community.
We look forward to welcoming you as part of our RPS whānau.

Board Presiding Member (chair person): Faizal Ramzan
Kia ora koutou.
My name is Faizal Ramzan and I joined our Randwick Park School (RPS) Board in 2024 as a board member.
I was born and raised up to the end of high school in the beautiful Pacific islands of Fiji. I later continued my tertiary education in structural and civil engineering in New South Wales, Australia. I worked in Australia and a few years in Fiji in my professional career before moving to New Zealand in 2007.
I have held senior engineer positions in two of the largest engineering consultancy firms in the world, having worked from their Auckland offices. I later added the project management role in the construction and engineering industry to my portfolio. Having worked for numerous commercial and private sector clients, a government organisation, and defense entities of New Zealand while completing another bachelor’s degree completion in an Auckland University, while pursuing my busy career.
My family and I moved to the Randwick Park area in 2017 after learning about the locality and its many positive attributes. One of the foremost being the Randwick Park school for its multi-cultural make-up of the whanau and the tamariki. Coming from the Pasifika community of Fiji, we wanted our child to grow up being schooled at RPS, learn and understand the ways of the people of the land, the Pasifika community, all the other NZ locals and the immigrants of our society.
As the presiding member of this board, I feel fortunate to be given the opportunity to serve our whanau through our school. I look forward to adding value and more positive vibes through my knowledge, skills and experiences that I have gained throughout my life with the help of the remaining Board members and the most capable staff of this school.
Nga mihi
Faizal Ramzan
