WEEKLY ATTENDANCE – EVERYDAY MATTERS
It’s great to see our regular attendance improving, rising from 55.7% to 64.4% last week. Let’s keep the momentum going and see if we can push this even higher over the rest of the term!
Congratulations to Te Hiringa, who took the house win last week with an impressive 68% regular attendance. Room 15 was our top class, achieving an outstanding 83.3% regular attendance. Well done to everyone who made the effort to be at school each day. Congratulations to Quinn from Room 6 and Gurbaz from Room 2, our lucky LEGO winners from Te Hiringa. Enjoy your building!

TE REO MĀORI
Each week classes will be introduced to a new te reo Māori word/phrase to learn and use within the classroom. Tamariki and staff will be encouraged to replace everyday English words with reo Māori and challenge themselves to use them throughout the week. The initiative helps to grow confidence in speaking te reo Māori and deepen understanding of the langauge.

AUCKLAND REHU TAI SPEECH FINALS
Congratulations to Ames Rhodes on his fantastic performance at the Auckland Speech Competition last Thursday. Ames represented Manurewa with confidence and enthusiasm, delivering his speech clearly and engagingly to the audience. He did a wonderful job and should be very proud of his achievement. Well done Ames!

AIMS GAMES UPDATE
On the weekend our Football, Netball and Rugby Seven’s AIMS Teams made their way to Tauranga and arrived safely. They have had a couple games already and here’s an update!
Netball: After winning their first game on Sunday, our girls continued their campaign with a 29-9 win over Onewhero Area School and a 35-7 win over Wellington’s Brooklyn School.
Football: The boys had their first two games today, with hard fought losses to Hutt International Boys’ School (8-0) and Liston College (14-0).
Rugby Sevens: The boys recorded two good wins against Te Kamo Intermediate (29-14) and Tarawera High School (55-5).

SEXUALITY EDUCATION AT RPS
As part of the Health and Physical Education curriculum, over the first two weeks of next term our tamariki will take part in sexuality education. We know this can sometimes be a topic that whānau have questions about, so below is information about what will be covered over the unit of learning for each year level.
At RPS, we use Navigating the Journey, a New Zealand Relationships and Sexuality Education programme developed by Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa. The programme provides age-appropriate learning about relationships, wellbeing, growing and changing, and keeping ourselves safe. Our approach is always age and developmentally appropriate, and learning is delivered in a respectful and inclusive way. We encourage whānau to talk with their tamariki about these topics at home as well, as this provides an important opportunity to reinforce messages about healthy relationships, safety and wellbeing.

STUDENT LEADERS ASSEMBLY
At each of our school assemblies, Student Leaders speak about something that is happening at school. Last week, Tu-Nui and Ryan spoke about our upcoming mock election, which our Student Leaders will be running:
We’ve got something pretty exciting happening in Week 2 of Term 4. Randwick Park School is going to be holding its very own mock election!All of our Year 4 to Year 8 students will get the chance to experience what it’s actually like to vote in a general election, without having to wait until they’re old enough to vote for real!Before election day, you’ll be learning about the different political parties and researching what they stand for, what they believe in, and how their policies might affect you.Then, when election day arrives, you’ll get two votes – just like in a real New Zealand election. You’ll have a party vote, where you choose the party you want to support, and a candidate vote, where you choose the person you think should represent your area.So this isn’t just about ticking a box and hoping for the best. Do your research, listen to different ideas, ask questions, and make your own decision.
It’s a chance to learn how democracy actually works and have your voice heard.
So get ready, Randwick Park School. Week 2, Term 4, the polls are open!

We have ManaKids health nurses onsite daily. They can see your tamariki for :
