RPS VALUES & DISPOSITIONS

Through consultation with the students and their whānau over the past two years, we are proud of the dispositions we as a learning community have chosen.

We have one overarching value of RESPECT.

Respect for others,

Respect for ourselves,

Respect for our learning

Respect for our environment.

Our Dispositions are:

Our learning dispositions are skills that we want our tamariki to develop over their time at RPS. Students will be unpacking what these dispositions mean in class.

SWIMMING CARNIVAL – YEAR 5/6

Randwick Park School sent our very first swim team ever to the MPSSA swimming competition this week! Well done to our nine Year 5 & 6 students who competed; they all tried their best and had a great day. Congratulations to Sophie Savali who came 2nd in the Year 5 freestyle race. A special thank you to Miss Nash who trained our swimmers.

GURDWARA EXPERIENCE – RIMU & TOTARA TEAM

EARTH MUFTI DAY
THURSDAY 7 MARCH

Tamariki can wear blue, green, or floral clothing with a gold coin koha this Thursday. All money raised will go to our school gardens.

ATTENDING SCHOOL

Research shows there is a connection between attending school regularly and doing well with learning. At RPS our goal is to have everyone at school every day, unless they are sick.  Last year we gave away a scooter, this term there is another drawer – all students who have 90% attendance at the end of the term will have their names added to win a lego prize.

As of last week, we have 363 tamariki who are in the draw!

ROOM 11’S SHOP
8:15-8:40 am daily, see you there!

SCHOOL UNIFORM
Terms 1 and 4 are our warmest terms.
We ask that tamariki please wear our school sunhat during outside times. This is to protect them from the harsh UV rays. Our summer uniform consists of our school shorts, skirt, polo shirt, and school shoes (Roman Sandals, school shoes (black, white, or navy blue), or sports shoes (black, white, or navy blue).

If your child is wearing a piece of jewellery as part of their culture, please advise either their class teacher or our school office. Jewellery, nail polish, and jandals do not form part of our RPS uniform.

2024 STATIONERY
There is no cost for stationery for all tamariki
this year. A payment of $6.00 is required for a book bag (Years 0-4) and Technology Fees for our Yr 7/8 tamariki remain at $40.00.
If you have any questions, please contact us
on 09 2670112 or 0800 438 777.

USING OUR PEDESTRIAN CROSSING

Thank you to all our whānau who model appropriate road safety protocols to our young RPS tamariki by using our crossings on Magic Way and Riverton Drive. When dropping off or collecting your child/ren please use the drop-off zones or off-street parking. Parking on the yellow lines, in front of our school gates, or double parking creates a serious safety issue. Please support us in ensuring our students get to and from school safely.

HEADLICE

We are experiencing a headlice break out in some of our classes. Please check and if neccessary, treat and comb your child/rens hair thoroughly. If you need headlice treatment , please let our office staff know to refer your child/ren to our Health Nurses who can assist with this.
